After announcing his bid for reelection Nov. 9, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has been making campaign stops in different areas throughout the state. The three-term governor made a stop in Tarrant County at Rex’s Bar and Grill near Texas Christian University campaigning on pro-taxpayer policies.
Talking to residents and supporters Dec. 4, Abbott shared his “taxpayer empowerment pledge” which included five policies he will be campaigning on:
- Require common sense spending limits
- Require two-thirds voter approval for tax increases
- Empower voters to roll back taxes
- Create appraisal predictability, cap appraisal growth
- Eliminate school property taxes for homeowners
