In observance of National Domestic Violence Month, the Springtown Epigraph is re-running the column below, written by copy editor Carla Noah Stutsman (formerly Carla Noah Wheeler). The column appeared in the Nov. 11, 1999, issue of The Azle News, and subsequently won first place in the serious column division in the National Newspaper Association’s Better Newspaper Contest in 1999.
