The VHS tape reached its 50th birthday Sept. 9, 2026.
When I first heard that, I immediately started checking for gray hairs.
After some frantic Googling, I learned that VHS tapes were created in 1976. I expressed a sigh of relief as I always believed VHS movies were first created in the mid-1980s — still a couple years before I was born.
