Jose “JJ” Balderas is a Fort Worth native who served the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth as chief of staff before transitioning into his role as the vice president of camping services within a five-year span. He is a graduate of Texas Woman's University. His passion for fitness led him to become a professional natural bodybuilder through the Natural Fit Federation and to develop a community-focused fitness program in his local area. Balderas has developed a strong passion in creative writing and storytelling, drawing on his experience in college, acting and as an aspiring cartoonist. His passion for storytelling is crucial in his role covering the news, events and people in the Springtown area for the Springtown Epigraph and The Azle News.
