Walnut Creek Special Utility District General Manager James Blackwood gave an update on the district’s Stage 3 water restrictions during the Monday, Aug. 17 board meeting.

The district placed customers with account numbers beginning with 10 and 15 in Pressure Zone 2 under Stage 3 water restrictions Aug. 10 after water demand became too high for the system to keep up. The restrictions will continue until further notice.

Stage 3 water restrictions prohibit all landscape watering, including parks, golf courses and sports fields, as well as washing of most vehicles. The restrictions also prohibit draining, filling or refilling swimming pools, wading pools and spa-type pools and operating ornamental fountains or ponds.
