The Family Resource Center held its annual holiday party and gave presents away via donations received through its blessing tree. The Blessing Tree, an initiative launched by FRC, collects donated and gently used toys to bring joy to underprivileged children. The holiday party is one of two bigger events FRC hosts, alongside its annual birthday celebration, in March.
FRC’s holiday party invited parents and children who attend FRC events as well as the outside community for hot chocolate, Christmas cookies, toys, free books and pictures with the grinch. The event was put together by employees at FRC and the parent action committee. The party was from 5-7 p.m. and offered activities like facepainting, reading books and playing with toys.
“The event was made possible through the dedication and support of the Parent Advisory Committee, including Alfrieda Jackson, Kiana Caudle, Chris McGee, the Grinch and Calvin Ingram, whose hard work and commitment were instrumental in bringing the event together,” FRC Community Alignment Team Lead Jeanne Stevens said. “The Family Resource Center would also like to recognize Help Me Grow staff member Rhonda Boaz who volunteered her time to provide face painting for throughout the evening. In addition, Parent Advisory Committee member Alfrieda Jackson generously donated supplies to support the event and Haley Spikes with Howdy Haley’s Event Rentals and Décor.”
