The Springtown boys wrestling team took on one of its toughest challenges of the season Dec. 12–13, competing in the Lonestar Men’s Classic Wrestling Tournament against larger schools and top-level competition.
Despite a demanding weekend on the mat, the Porcupines had a standout performance from Dominic Contreras. Contreras captured first place in his weight class, winning all his matches by major decision or better. His dominant showing earned him recognition as Springtown’s first ranked wrestler of the season, coming in at No. 19 in the state.
The tournament provided valuable experience for the Porcupines as they continue to test themselves against strong opponents early in the season.
