Goshen Creek Winter Wonderland

Snow flurries bring joy to Goshen Creek students, families, staff

Goshen Creek Elementary School students, parents and staff were treated to a wonderful “Winter Wonderland” themed celebration Tuesday, Dec. 16, as PTA members and volunteers held the school’s first annual winter celebration before sending students off on holiday break.

The holiday spirit could be felt before walking through the gym doors, as Dad’s Spare Time Foam Parties provided a snow machine that surrounded corridor doors with blankets of snow flurries — setting the stage for what was stored inside. Indoors, children had their choice between bounce houses, activity tables, games and crafting tables — all hosted and managed by teams of school staff and volunteers — a feat PTA president Erin Dobbs said she “couldn’t have done” without them.

Dobbs said each year the board budgets a certain amount of money toward three free community events and because of the Texas heat, this year they decided on a winter-themed event instead of the usual back to school bash.
