Springtown ISD rejoined the American Heart Association during the academic school year and has been recognized as a District of Lifesavers. The recognition is given to districts that emphasize heart health education, CPR training and emergency preparedness.

“It's about bringing awareness and empowering our teachers, students, parents and staff to know what to do when it is needed. As for lifesaving skills, how to be proactive and promote a healthy lifestyle. It takes a village to take care for everyone and the more awareness that we can bring, the better that we're prepared,” Goshen Creek Elementary Principal Wendy Ashley said.

Teaching these skills early plays a key role in long-term student development.
