Jamie Oliver has been promoted to the position of Chief of Police for the city of Springtown. The move was announced in a press release from the city of Springtown Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, although the promotion was effective Jan. 3.
“Chief Oliver brings a distinguished record of service and leadership to his new role, having progressed through the ranks of the police department over the course of his career. He began his service to the community as a patrol officer, where he built a strong foundation in community-oriented policing and frontline law enforcement. He later advanced to Investigator, gaining extensive experience in complex criminal investigations, before being promoted to Sergeant, where he demonstrated exceptional supervisory and leadership skills,” the release reads.
“In February 2023, Oliver was promoted to deputy chief of police, marking a significant milestone in his professional development. As part of that promotion, he was placed into a structured mentoring program under City Administrator and Director of Public Safety David Miller, who brings 40 years of law enforcement experience to the role. This mentorship program was intentionally designed to transition Oliver from a mid-level supervisor into a chief law enforcement executive capable of leading the department strategically and operationally,” the release continues. “Throughout the mentoring program, Oliver maintained responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the police department, including oversight and supervision of all sworn officers and civilian support staff. His leadership during this period ensured continuity of operations, accountability, and a continued focus on public safety and service to the community.”
