As a regional patient liaison for Springtown and its surrounding area, Durenda Meints has been working hard with her team to expand end-of-life care for residents and beyond. Yet the road leading up to this was anything but easy for Meints.

Perhaps it was due to her mother’s resilience — watching her live through and eventually leave an abusive relationship that gave her the “willpower to fight” as Meints said.

It was that willpower that prompted Meints to enter the workforce at just 14 years old.
