The city of Reno took delivery of a pair of Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycles Wednesday, Jan. 7, as the newly created Traffic Enforcement Division prepares to begin patrolling city streets.
The new unit is part of “Operation Safe Streets” — a citywide initiative created and led by City Administrator Paul Lilly that focuses on increasing police presence in residential neighborhoods in response to citizen concerns over reckless driving and speeding.
Lilly said not only will the new additions aid in enforcing traffic safety, but also school bus safety — a topic he does not take lightly.
