WCSUD issues boil water notice for Stella Lane residents

WCSUD issues boil water notice for Stella Lane residents

Walnut Creek Special Utility District has issued a boil water notice effective Jan. 14 for residents on Stella Lane as crews work to repair a leaking flush valve. During these repairs, those affected will experience little to no water pressure. Once water service is restored, all residents will be required to boil their water until further notice.

The notice warns customers to boil water prior to consumption, including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing hands or face and preparing ice. Children, older adults and individuals with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria and should take extra precautions. To eliminate harmful bacteria, water should be brought to a strong boil for two minutes then cooled before use. Residents may also use bottled water or another source for drinking and food preparation.

WCSUD will notify customers when the notice is lifted and the water is safe for consumption. Residents are encouraged to share this information with others who may not receive the notice directly, including people in apartments, schools, nursing homes and businesses.

For questions, contact James Blackwood or Perry Day at 817-220-7707 or visit the WCSUD office at 1155 W. Highway 199 in Springtown.
