The Springtown boys basketball team turned back a determined Castleberry squad Friday, Jan. 9, pulling away late for a 50-42 District 7-4A victory at Springtown gym.
Ayden Lugo led the Porcupines with 20 points, providing a steady offensive spark throughout the night. Louden Strickland added 13 points, while Jodi Yescas chipped in eight as Springtown fended off multiple Castleberry runs.
The win improved the Porcupines to 5-14 overall and 1-2 in district play, keeping Springtown within striking distance as the District 7-4A race begins to take shape.
