Porcupine wrestlers post program-best state duals finish
Springtown wrestlers finished fourth in the THSWCA State Duals, the best finish in program history.

The Springtown Porcupines continued to cement their place among the state’s elite wrestling programs, turning in a historic performance at the THSWCA 4A State Duals Tournament.

Invited for the third consecutive year as one of the top Class 4A teams in Texas, Springtown improved on last season’s sixth-place finish by earning fourth overall — the best finish in program history. The Porcupines opened the tournament with convincing wins over Brock High School (51-21) and La Vernia High School, before falling to West Plains High School (40-32) and Benbrook High School 54-27.

Head coach Sawyer Cooper said the team’s growth and depth were key factors in the breakthrough showing.
