The Springtown Lady Porcupines kept their postseason hopes alive Friday night, earning a key 45-40 district victory at home over Eagle Mountain High School. Before the game, the Lions Club little league girls team came to support the Lady Pines.

The win pulls Springtown back into the district 4-4A playoff race, leaving the Lady Porcupines just one game behind Krum High School for the fourth and final playoff spot. The Lady Pines controlled the tempo down the stretch and made timely plays to secure the 5-point win in front of the home crowd.

Springtown will have a chance to close the gap Tuesday, Jan. 20, when the Lady Porcupines travel to Krum for a pivotal district matchup. The Pines return home Friday, Jan. 23 to host Burkburnett High School as district play continues. Leading scorers for the Lady Pines were Evelyn Hererra and Kaylee Falcon with 12 points each.
