The Springtown Area Senior Center located at 1070 N. Main St., is getting a new name — the Springtown Event Center. The decision to change the name of the center was made due to an increase in party rentals.
“We’re getting more rentals, more people calling about it, and trying to and wanting to rent it,” senior center secretary/treasurer Tootie Hall said. “We have capacity seating for 240 so that makes it pretty big. It’s large enough that we have a full kitchen, restroom facilities, cooling and heating and everything else.”
Despite the increase in party rentals, the Saturday night dances will continue to happen weekly.
