Polar propane panic?

Author: Myriam Gonzalez | Springtown Epigraph

Over the weekend of Jan. 24-26, temperatures in North Texas dropped into single digits for the first time since the arctic blast in 2021. Prior to the onset of the wintery weekend, many took precautionary measures in case of a power grid failure. In Springtown, Chadwell & Son Gas Co. began to see rows of vehicles line up across State Highway 199 early in the week with residents filling, refilling and purchasing tanks of propane. Owner Paula Chadwell confirmed that from Monday, Jan. 19 through Friday, Jan. 23 between 60,000-65,000 gallons of propane was sold — significantly more than the company’s average of 15,000-16,250 for this time of year.
