Growing up, she was always different. She moved her hands in ways she didn’t understand. She loved The Wizard of Oz, so she had to learn “everything” about it, even at a young age. As soon as she learned to read, she studied her school yearbook front to back, memorizing each one of her peers’ names. With the help of a furry friend and a welcoming community, former Springtown resident turned author Morgan Eaton discovered the reasons why, as she penned her first children's book titled “A Pug Named Toby: A Story of Difference, Love and the Dog That Understood Me.”
The book tells the story of a little girl named Morgan who finds herself misunderstood and struggling to fit in, but through unwavering love and support from her four-legged companion, she learns to find comfort and acceptance in her uniqueness.
“As a child, I just thought I was weird. I didn’t have a lot of friends and people would make comments about me being weird, and all I did, all I wanted was a friend, really. I longed for just a friendship,” Eaton begins.
