If you ask Springtown’s newly appointed Chief of Police Jamie Oliver what has changed since he stepped into the role, he’ll say “the title.” However, now that he has the official title, he has one main objective in mind: to train his people to their full potential.

“My main goal has always been training,” he explains. “That’s my big push.”

Originally from Weatherford, Oliver came to the Springtown Police Department in 2014 where he worked his way from patrol officer, to investigator, to sergeant in the Criminal Investigations Division. It was during his time there that he demonstrated exceptional civic duty, often “rolling his sleeves up” as City Administrator David Miller said during his opening remarks at Oliver’s pinning ceremony. Oliver said that for the last two years he was already doing much of the same work, so not much has changed other than having to get used to his new designation.
