Computer skills classes continue
Parker County Center of Hope invites everyone to join in to learn basic computer skills. Anyone ready to feel more confident using a computer can meet every Tuesday from Feb. 3 through Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The free basic computer class will have no pressure or rushing, just supportive step-by-step learning in a welcoming environment designed for beginners who want to learn at a comfortable pace.

Valentine’s Gala arrives Feb. 20
The Springtown Lions Club will host its first annual Valentines Gala Friday, Feb. 20, with all proceeds benefiting the club’s baseball and softball programs.
Tickets for the event are $75 and individual beverage packages are available for $50. The event is open to those age 18 and older, but anyone under the age of 21 will not receive a beverage package or wristband. Table packages ranging from bronze to platinum levels are also available for purchase.

Daddy Daughter Dance due Feb. 21
The Springtown Band Backers will once again host its annual Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Springtown High School cafeteria.
Admission for dad and daughter is $20 plus $5 for each additional daughter and includes a cookie and bottled water. All tickets will be sold online only this year and will need to be accessible via mobile device at the door entrance. Attendees will have the option to sign up for two sessions: 4:30-6:30 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to create lifetime memories. Farmers Market arrives Feb. 21
This month the city of Springtown will bring back its Farmers Market to the Newby Pavilion Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Booths set up throughout the pavilion will feature local homegrown fruits and vegetables, POJO spirit inspired merchandise, homemade fudge and just about anything else you can think of.
Bring the family and check out what your community has to offer — there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Cornhole Tournament arrives Feb. 22
Hitters Baseball is hosting its first ever cornhole tournament to help raise funds for its upcoming season Sunday, Feb. 22 at Fink’s Backyard located at 120 Eastwood Road in Springtown.
The tournament begins at noon and will feature food, drinks, competitions, raffles, cash payouts for Pro Division top finishers and prizes for the Bush and Kids’ Division top finishers.

Church offers free breakfast burritos
Hope Lutheran Church invites you to enjoy its free breakfast burritos each first Saturday of the month from 8-10 a.m. or until supplies run out.
Free coffee and juice will be served upon request — just drive through the parking lot to be served in your car. All bikers and walkers are welcome as well.

Springtown Library monthly events

- Story and Craft Time, each Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
- Teen Movie Afternoon, first Saturday of the month, movie TBD, 2:30-5 p.m.
- LEGO Club, last Friday of the month, 1 p.m.
The LEGO Club is open to all interested kids and there is no need to sign up. Just show up and the library will provide the LEGO bricks, while the kids provide the imagination.
Adults must stay and help build with their kids. Please leave your own LEGOs at home unless you would like to donate them, in which case we thank you in advance.
The Springtown library is happy to announce the upcoming “Dungeons and Dragons” event that will be added to their monthly calendar this year. The dates are still in the works, but stay tuned because it is sure to be a slayin’ good time!
Celebrate Springtown Gala due March 6
The Springtown Area Chamber of Commerce will host its “Celebrate Springtown Gala,” at Covered Bridge Venue located at 2250 Agnes Circle in Springtown Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m.
The yearly event spotlights businesses within the community that exemplify the true spirit of Springtown in a one-night special event.

Annual NatureCon arrives March 28
The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge invites you to come enjoy a day full of exploration, learning and fun at its annual NatureCon festival Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the nature center located at 9601 Fossil Ridge Road in Fort Worth.
The event will feature hayrides, arts and crafts, music, food trucks, paddling and much more. A discovery trail will be set up throughout, making way for little explorers. Guest speakers will be on site to talk about native plants and answer questions from young, curious minds.
