Springtown High School was the site of the annual Daddy Daughter Dance, where girls of all ages and their leading gentlemen danced the afternoon away Thursday, Feb. 21.
From the tiniest of tots to some just as tall as their dads, Springtown’s little ladies put on their best dresses and tiaras for some one-on-one time with their cowboy hat, suit-wearing partners. The school cafeteria was filled with red, white and black balloons that kept busy bodies occupied between songs, giving dads a much-needed break. On the sidelines others snacked on cookies while their princesses laughed and ran around with their classmates.
The annual two-hour event offered two sessions — an afternoon and evening session — that included a cookie and bottled water with the price of admission. The event — sponsored by the Springtown Band Backers — draws attendees of all ages and since there is no requirement of having to attend SISD, the crowd gets larger every year.
