Lady Porcupines power to 11th straight regional title
The Lady Porcupine powerlifters are once again regional champs.

The Springtown Lady Porcupines left no doubt Friday, Feb. 27 in Decatur, muscling their way to the 2026 Regional Girls Powerlifting Championship and punching a program-record number of tickets to the state meet.

Springtown saw 22 of its 24 lifters medal at the regional meet, including seven regional champions, and qualified 17 athletes for state, setting a new school record for the Porcupines. The Lady Pines team scored 72 points to beat second place Decatur who scored 45 points.

Leading the way was senior Grace Lewis, who delivered one of the most dominant performances of the meet in the 181-pound weight class. Lewis captured the gold medal and rewrote the regional record books, setting new marks in the squat, deadlift and overall total for her class.
