Behind a dominant performance in the circle and a pair of long balls at the plate, the Springtown Lady Porcupines blanked the Azle Lady Hornets 6-0 Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Jim Bob Nation’s Field of Dreams at Azle High School.
Senior pitcher Kylee Spray was in control from the opening pitch, tossing a complete-game shutout. Spray struck out 12 and walked just one while allowing Azle little room to mount an offensive threat. The Paris Junior College signee also contributed offensively, driving in a run with an RBI double in the first inning to help Springtown jump out early.
The Lady Porcupines’ offense was sparked by freshman Sagelyn Jacobson, who delivered back-to-back home runs to pace the scoring and provide separation in the shutout win.
