Amy Walker is originally from Grapevine but moved to Springtown with her husband in 1989 when they were a new couple. Although they moved away from Springtown for a couple of years in 1992, they ultimately decided to make Springtown their permanent home in 1994. Walker recalls Springtown feeling like home when they attended Friday Night Lights for the first time.

“I'm a huge football fanatic and we would drive in from work on Friday nights. The varsity played football right next to Springtown Elementary. There was a stadium like you could just walk up to the fence and watch the game by the fence, and that's what we did every Friday night when we were first married. (We) met a few people that way and it wasn't until we started having kids that I got really involved in the community. So that was fast forward a couple of years,” Walker said
