BASEBALL
The Porcupine varsity went 2-0 this week in district, defeating Lake Worth Tuesday, March 10, then routed the Bullfrogs in Round 2 of district 12-0. Their overall record is 9-2-1. The Porcupines continue district play the week of spring break when they take on Burkburnett Tuesday, March 17 and Friday, March 20.
SOFTBALL
The Lady Pines celebrated their lone senior, Kylie Spray, Tuesday March 10 when they hosted Lake Worth. The Lady Pines erupted after a perfect game from Spray, winning 16-0. The bats and pitching stayed hot as they then destroyed Bridgeport 22-0. In that game, Ryleigh Morris, Sagelyn Jacobson and Kaylee Falcon all homered.
The Lady Pines JV continued their hot streak as well, defeating Lake Worth 15-0 March 10 and continuing the onslaught against Bridgeport winning 15-0.
SOCCER
The Porcupine varsity squad finished out its 2026 campaign. After a 6-0 win over Collegiate Academy March 5, the Porcupines were downed by Lake Worth 6-0.
The Lady Pines varsity team faced their last game March 10 when they fell to Lake Worth.
TRACK AND FIELD
The Lady Pines track and field team hosted the annual Brad Legan Friends and Family Invitational at Porcupine Stadium. The Lady Pines blew away the field scoring 178 points for the team win. Helping to get that win were first-place finishers Mariam Kolb in the discus, Madelyn Walker in the 3200-meter run, and the Lady Pines won all three relay events. Madelyn Walker placed second in the 800-meter run and 1600-meter run. Kylee McNeely was second in the discus and Kaylee Sweeley placed second in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Lady Pines JV squad scored 209 points to lead the JV girls division. There were some great performances including first-place finishers Jazmyn Chenault in the 400-meter run, Caroline Trevino in the 1600-meter run, Emma Bowen in the high jump, Kaila Harrison in the pole vault, Gracelyn Graham in the long jump and triple jump, and Sierra Owens in the discus. The Lady Porcupines won all three relay events.
The Porcupine varsity put on an absolute show Thursday, March 12 dominating the field to score 158 total points at the Brad Legan Friends and Family Invitational. The 1600-meter relay, made up of Kaine Hill, Dillon Kates, Aiden Adams and Pilot Grubis, won first place. Other top finishers were Dillon Kates, who won the 800-meter run, Nicholas Garcia, who was first in the 200-meter dash, and Grubis, who won the 300-meter hurdles.
The Porcupine JV squad finished out the Porcupine sweep at the Brad Legan Friends and Family Invitational, scoring 214 points. The Porcupine JV won all three relay events. Teagan Hair won the 100-meter dash, Gage Hernandez won the 200-meter dash, Jacob Carpenter was first in the 800-meter run, and Cayman Watson won double gold in the 300-meter hurdles and 100-meter hurdles.
Golf
Varsity boys and girls golfers played in the Northside Invitational March 10. Ernest Dallas won first place medalist shooting a two-over-par 74.
Dixie Mae Crain played in the 4A State Preview March 13 and 14 at Legend Golf Course in Kingsland, Texas. Crain finished the two-day preview in second place with a two-day total of 144.
