Springtown FFA members often begin showing animals at a young age — sometimes as early as 6 years old. Kylie Altom is one of those students, and Saturday, March 21 marked her final major stock show when she competed in Austin.
At the Austin show, Altom’s medium wool market goat placed third and made the sale, while her lightweight market goat finished sixth. Her younger brother, Bodie Altom, also had a strong showing, placing third with his fine wool cross market lamb and seventh with his heavyweight market goat.
Kylie Altom also competed at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo during spring break. At the Houston lamb and goat show, she placed fifth with her heavyweight fine wool cross lamb and sixth with her heavyweight market goat. Bodie Altom’s heavyweight market goat placed 12th in Houston. Moss Craven also showed a heavyweight market goat, and Peyton Buttrum showed a lightweight market goat at the Houston show.
