BASEBALL
The Porcupine varsity swept district rival Burkburnett during spring break. The Pines hit the road Tuesday, March 17 and pounded the Dogs 19-4. On Friday, March 20, the Porcupines again trounced the Dogs 11-2.
The Porcupine JV took two games from Burkburnett over spring break.
SOFTBALL
The Lady Pines varsity blasted Castleberry 17-0 Thursday, March 19. Freshman Sagelyn Jacobson pitched a perfect game and homered against the Lady Lions.
The Lady Pines JV continued their roll in district play as they beat up Castleberry 15-1.
The Lady Pines varsity picked up another district win Friday, March 20 when they ran past Decatur 10-6.
TRACK AND FIELD
The Lady Pines track and field team placed second in the Possum Kingdom Relays held in Graham Saturday, March 21. For the second meet in a row the Lady Pines won all three relays. The Lady Pines 400-meter relay team of Caroline Dittmar, Marleigh Perales, Kayden Spencer and Hannah Dittmar set a new school record of 49.33. Madelyn Walker won the 1600-meter run, Claire Cash won the 800-meter run and Marleigh Perales won the 100-meter dash. Madelyn Walker was the runner-up in the 800-meter run, Kaylee Sweeley was second in the 100 hurdles, and Campbell Vining was second in the 400-meter dash. Freshman Carli Mathis finished fourth in the 300 hurdles.
The Porcupine varsity track squad won the Possum Kingdom Relays. The Porcupines outran Graham to take the large school division title. The Porcupines 400 relay team of Jett Hill, Zane Morton, Aiden Adams and Kaine Hill placed first. The Porcupine 800-meter relay team made up of Teagan Hair, Gage Hernandez, Zane Morton and Jett Hill was first as well. The 1600-meter relay team featuring Kaine Hill, Dillon Kates, Pilot Grubis and Aiden Adams brought home the gold as well. Grubis was also the winner of the 300-meter hurdles. Second place finishers include Adams in the 100-meter, Kates in the 400-meter, Hill in the 200-meter and Brayden Levario in the 1600-meter run. Third place finishers include Brian Ray in the 800-meter run, Grubis in the 110-meter hurdles, Jaxson Greene in the 400-meter dash and Hair in the 200-meter dash.
