THIS WEEK: Addison Shirley
What is your name and grade?
Addison Shirley and I am a junior at Springtown High School.
How long have you been participating in Winterguard?
This season will make my third year as a member of this team. I’ve enjoyed being a part of this team and I hope my next and last year will be the same.
What is your favorite class?
It’s hard to choose, probably my dual credit classes, I have a lot of friends there I get to connect with.
Do you have a shout out to anyone?
I would like to shout out the seniors on our team, Mia Guillen and Isabella Sullivan, they worked so hard this year.
Give me an example of one moment you’ll never forget about Winterguard.
One moment I’ll never forget is hearing our team move up to Scholastic A, realizing we will compete in an advanced division.
Tell me one pre-game ritual or pre-performance routine you go through.
A pre-performance routine that I share with my teammates is when we are lined up to take the court, we trace the letter S on each other’s back.
Do you have any pets?
I have a lot of pets. I have one sweet German Shepard, two adorable kittens, and an army of chickens.
Tell me something no one knows about you.
I absolutely love to draw. I like to spend a decent amount of time drawing in a notebook.
What is some advice you give to younger members of your team?
My advice would be to always avoid comparing yourself to other people. It’s important to remember.
What does life after high school look like?
I’m not certain exactly what school I would like to go to. It’s a tough decision; however, I’d like to go into the STEM field.
