BASEBALL

The Porcupine varsity swept another district series, this time taking two from Eagle Mountain. On Tuesday, March 31 the Porcupines traveled to Eagle Mountain and took a 10-1 victory from the Knights. Junior Nate McDaniel had three hits and scored two runs; junior Cash Smith had three RBIs to lead Springtown. The Porcupine varsity continued its hot streak Thursday, April 2 when it took down Eagle Mountain again 10-4. The Porcupines piled up 11 hits in the district game at Porcupine Field. A passed ball gave the Porcupines the lead at 5-4 and they never looked back. The Springtown Porcupines are 18-3-2 overall and 8-0 in district. 

Porcupine JV defeated Eagle Mountain 12-8 in their district match-up April 2.

SOFTBALL

The Lady Pines varsity hosted a very good Burkburnett team Thursday, March 31. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Pines 8-4. Junior Kaylee Falcon hit a homerun and pitched in relief. The Lady Pines district game against Lake Worth was postponed because of weather and was rescheduled. 

The Lady Pines JV dropped Burkburnett 9-0 in their home game Thursday, March 31.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Lady Pines track team sent their mile relay team to the Decatur Invitational to keep them ready for the district meet. The Lady Pines mile relay team of Caroline Dittmar, Izzy Parker, Claire Cash and Hannah Dittmar won the mile relay event while setting a school record. The new school record is 4:05.57.
