Springtown sophomore Dixie Mae Crain is headed back to the state tournament, and this time, she’s going with momentum.
Crain turned in a steady, championship-caliber performance at the Region 1-4A golf tournament held April 15-16 at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock, shooting back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 to finish with a two-day total of 144.
Her opening round 72 Wednesday gave her a two-stroke lead heading into the final day, and she never let it slip.
