The winner of the 3200-meter race, Madelyn Walker, accepts her gold medal.

The Springtown track and field program turned in a standout performance on its home track as the Porcupines and Lady Porcupines combined for a strong showing at the area meet held Wednesday and Thursday, April 15-16 at Porcupine Stadium.

With the top four finishers in each event advancing, Springtown will send a deep and talented group to the regional meet after both varsity squads finished runner-up in the team standings.

The Lady Porcupines led the charge with several dominant performances. Distance standout Madelyn Walker claimed the area title in the 3,200-meter run and added a second-place finish in the 1,600 meters to qualify in multiple events. Walker also advanced in the 800-meter run, capping a busy and successful meet.
