BASEBALL
The Porcupine varsity swept Castleberry Tuesday, April 14 and Friday, April 17. On Tuesday, April 14 the Porcupines hosted Castleberry at Porcupine stadium and thrashed the Lions 17-0. Springtown scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning before putting up 11 runs in the bottom of the third inning. Nate McDaniel pitched five innings giving up only one hit in the blowout.
The Porcupine varsity continued its hot streak Friday, April 17 by downing Castleberry 8-0. Junior Jose Lopez led all Porcupines with four hits in five at bats. Omar Hernandez collected three hits on the night.
SOFTBALL
The Lady Pines varsity squad picked up a couple of key district wins this week. On Monday, April 13 the Lady Pines went to Decatur, a tough district match-up the Lady Pines won 11-5. Kaylee Falcon led all Lady Pines with four hits in the district win. Kylie Spray pitched the complete game striking out 11 Decatur batters.
The Lady Pines varsity kept the pressure on the remainder of the district by beating Eagle Mountain 5-3 Friday, April 17. Freshman Sage Jacobson hit a home run to help the Lady Pines pick up another district win.
