Walnut Creek SUD joins WFPUA
Walnut Creek SUD board members discuss joining WFPUA with local residents during an April 20 board meeting.

The Walnut Creek Special Utility District board of directors approved a motion to join the West Fork Public Utility Agency during its April 20 board meeting.

The decision allows the district to take part in plans to develop infrastructure that would bring water from Eagle Mountain Lake to serve Parker and Wise County residents.

The board’s decision also reflects expectations that population growth will continue over the next five to 10 years, surpassing the capacity of its current water systems. Participation in the WFPUA is intended to position the district to help fund and access future surface water supplies as the demand increases.
