In September 2025, Paul Dillon Brown, 20, of Arlington, pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing 947 fentanyl pills with intent to deliver in Parker County. Brown elected to have 43rd District Court Judge Craig Towson assess his punishment and was sentenced to serve life in a Texas penitentiary.
Brown’s attorneys appealed the sentence, but now, the Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana has affirmed Brown’s conviction and sentence.
According to testimony in the initial trial, a vehicle in which Brown was a passenger was pulled over by a Willow Park Police Department officer Feb. 29, 2024, when it was seen driving 108 mph on Interstate 20. A WPPD searched the vehicle after smelling the odor of burnt marijuana and found baggies of fentanyl pills in Brown’s pants pocket and in the trunk. There were also two handguns in the trunk, one of which turned out to be stolen. Brown struggled with WPPD officers but was eventually arrested.
