Bobby Slate was raised in Springtown and graduated from Springtown High School in 1970. He married his wife, Tami, in 1979, and they had three sons.
He grew up surrounded by his father’s wrecker service and salvage yard, which helped him learn a lot about cars. That experience ultimately led him into the car business, and he opened Slate’s Motor Co. in 1982.
About six years before entering the car business, he worked in real estate and obtained his real estate broker’s license in 1979.
