A helicopter went down in Parker County Friday afternoon, July 3 near Kezer’s Air Ranch, a small airport near the intersection of Knob and McVoid Roads near Springtown.
According to Sgt. Lockridge from the Texas Department of Public Safety, after landing at a private airstrip, the helicopter was repositioning for refueling when one of its rotor blades struck a tree.
Parker County Emergency Services District No. 1 Chief Stephen Watson says one individual in the helicopter was transported to a local hospital with injuries but was in stable condition. When officials arrived, Watson says the fire department assisted in controlling a fuel leak from the helicopter.
No other injuries were reported and the cause of the crash will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
