After years serving Tarrant County in local government, Maegan South is bringing her public service experience to the Springtown ISD board of trustees.
South was born and raised in Springtown and graduated from Springtown High School in 2005. After studying dental hygiene at Texas Woman’s University, she realized she wanted to pursue a different path. She earned an associate degree from Tarrant County College in legal studies before completing a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Texas Wesleyan University. Now, she is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration at the University of Texas at Arlington.
While completing her bachelor’s degree, South worked for a small business firm. She later transitioned to local government, joining the staff at Tarrant County, where she has worked for the past 14 years. She has held various roles, including chief of staff, economic development director, strategic planning manager and analyst. Currently, South is the administrative county assistant.
