Springtown head football coach Brian Hulett has spent nearly two decades building consistent playoff programs — something that has earned him statewide recognition.
Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine selected Hulett as its Class 4A representative on its list of the state’s most underrated high school football coaches entering the 2026 season. The publication cited his ability to build successful programs at Eastland and Springtown while producing postseason appearances year after year.
Hulett has missed the playoffs only once during his 18 seasons as a head coach. That came during his first season at Eastland in 2008, when the Mavericks finished 6-4.
