Kendra Hutchison and her husband, Austen, moved to Springtown in 2019. The couple was looking for a place to relocate near Fort Worth but away from the city.

They eventually ventured out to Springtown. Hutchison recalled driving around as the sun set against an orange sky, seeing children playing near the soccer fields between Springtown Intermediate and Springtown Middle Schools and eventually coming across the stadium.

“We saw everything, and I just felt a rush over me, and I just felt like God was telling us this is where we needed to be, and it was so fitting … We started researching Springtown, and we found out about the porcupine and POJO, and I was like, ‘Why doesn’t everybody in the nation know about how awesome this place is?’ The most awesome mascot ever,” Hutchison told the Springtown Epigraph.
