Walker goes the distance for Springtown

Two-time state qualifier balances cross-country, track and FFA leadership
Walker goes the distance for Springtown
Junior Madelyn Walker started the year off with a victory at the Azle cross-country meet.

Springtown High School junior Madelyn Walker has already built a resume that reaches well beyond one season.

A two-time UIL Class 4A state cross-country qualifier, Walker and the Lady Porcupines return to competition Aug. 21 at the Friday Night Hawk Invite, a two-mile night race at McInnish Park in Carrollton. All divisions at the meet are scheduled to race two miles.

Walker enters the meet after opening the season with a first-place finish in her division at the Azle ISD Clash of the Classes Aug. 7. The hilly, sandy course provided an early challenge, but Walker came away with the victory as Springtown began its 2026 season.
