The Springtown ISD board of trustees approved the proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year and adopted a tax rate lower than last year’s rate when it met Monday, Aug. 24.
The board adopted a tax rate of $1.0206 per $100 valuation, $0.0111 lower than last year’s tax rate of $1.0317.
Wesley Thomas, assistant superintendent of finance and business, presented both the proposed tax rate and the proposed general fund budget of $48,296,198 for the board’s consideration. Thomas said even though the district’s tax rate is lower this year, the district is required to state that the adopted rate will produce more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.
