Springtown falls to Brock in season opener
The Springtown Porcupines take the field for their highly anticipated season opener, charging out to kick off the new year.

Springtown found itself chasing Brock early Friday, Aug. 28, and the first-half deficit proved too much to overcome in a 42-20 season-opening loss at Eagle Stadium.

The nondistrict matchup featured two highly regarded Class 4A programs. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football had Springtown ranked No. 3 in Class 4A Division I entering the season, while Brock was ranked No. 6 in Class 4A Division II.

Brock grabbed control early and carried a 7-0 lead out of the first quarter.
