Rockets edge Porcupines with late field goal, 38-35
Springtown junior Jett Hill gets the scoring going with a 50-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter against Robinson.

The Springtown Porcupines fell to the Robinson Rockets 38-35 Sept. 4 when a late field goal decided the hard-fought home opener at Porcupine Stadium.

The Rockets, who finished 2025 as 9-3 area finalists, presented a tough nondistrict challenge for the Porcupines. Springtown entered the contest 0-1 after Brock defeated the Porcupines in Week 1.

Ranked No. 6 in Class 4A Division I despite the opening loss, Springtown looked to bounce back with a victory. It wasn't to be, however, as the Rockets kicked a game-winning field goal with just six seconds remaining in the game to seal the deal.
