Porcupines rout Brownwood 54-6
Springtown quarterback Kaine Hill has helped lead the Porcupines’ offense this season. Springtown defeated Brownwood 54-6 Sept. 11 for its first win of the year.

Springtown’s football team dusted off the rust and picked up its first win of the season, defeating Brownwood 54-6 Friday, Sept. 11 in Brownwood.

The Porcupines were winless through their first two games after losses to the Brock Eagles on opening night and the Robinson Rockets the following week. Springtown entered the contest ranked No. 10 in Class 4A Division I despite its 0-2 start.

Springtown scored in the first quarter, then added 28 points in the second quarter to put the game out of reach for the Lions. The Porcupines scored once in the third quarter and twice in the fourth. Brownwood added its only score in the fourth quarter.
