Long before the Springtown Epigraph published its first edition, newspapers had been documenting the community for nearly a century.
According to the Epigraph’s archives, the Springtown Sentinel began publication in 1881 under Scott Denton, followed by the Springtown Pilot in 1882 and the Springtown News Dealer in 1890.
Over the decades, several other newspapers came and went, including the Springtown Cyclone, Springtown Sun, Springtown Local, Springtown Home News and Springtown Journal.
