The Springtown High School varsity cheerleaders are heading to New York to perform in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
After receiving approval from the Springtown ISD board of trustees in March, the team has spent the past several months fundraising for the trip.
SHS head cheer coach Candice Adams told the Springtown Epigraph after hearing that other schools nearby, including Boyd High School and Northwest High School, had performed in the parade, the team decided to audition. The cheerleaders submitted an audition tape and waited several weeks before learning they had been selected.
