Springtown ISD’s Porcupine Student Leadership Council hosted its first meeting of the school year in October.
Superintendent Shane Strickland began the PSLC last school year for one reason — to hear directly from students. Strickland wanted to create an opportunity for students to have a voice and ensure district leadership hears directly from those who experience SISD every day. He wanted students to know their thoughts, opinions and experiences matter.
Students on the council have the opportunity to share their ideas, provide feedback and participate in the conversations that help shape the future of SISD.
