Springtown cross-country runners Madelyn Walker and Kaiden Derby earned individual berths in the UIL Class 4A State Cross Country Championships following their performances at the Region I meet Monday, Oct. 26, at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
Although neither the boys nor girls teams advanced, Walker and Derby qualified individually to represent Springtown at the state meet.
Walker led the Lady Pines with a 19th-place finish in the Class 4A two-mile race, completing the course in 12 minutes, 44.3 seconds.
