Students in Springtown ISD are not the only ones going to different state competitions this Spring. Springtown ISD Special Education Driver Wendy Haynes and monitor Jennifer Reyna are headed to the 2025 Texas Association for Pupil Transportation State Competition in Houston April 26.

The pair recently won third place in the Special Education Driver category at the Region 11 Bus Rodeo hosted by Weatherford ISD. Haynes had competed at the bus rodeos before this year, but not at this level, she says.

“In the past, it was more of a road course, where this one, we had to inspect the bus, inspect car seats, getting the kids strapped in correctly, loading and unloading a wheelchair, emergency evacuation and then a road course,” Haynes said.
